President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Alhaji Shettima Yerima has reacted to arrest warrant obtained against his members by Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.

He said the governor was playing with fire by planning to arrest members of his group, who had issued quit notice to Igbos living in the north to leave the region on or before October 1.
Governor El-Rufai had on Thursday obtained court warrant to arrest the Northern youth leaders.

Boko Haram Attacks Bama Barracks, Many Killed

It was gathered that the terrorists engaged soldiers in a heavy gun battle around 6:30 pm on Saturday. The battle lasted for over an hour before the BH insurgents retreated.

Fayose’s commissioners may spend holiday in EFCC custody

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Toyin Ojo, and the Accountant General, Mrs. Yemisi Owolabi, may spend the prolonged holiday in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Saturday PUNCH has learnt.

The suspects, who were arrested by the EFCC while Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, was inaugurating his presidential campaign on Thursday, were allegedly involved in the diversion of N7bn.

The money was alleged to have been part of the over N11bn bailout fund which was paid to the Ekiti State Government by the Federal Government.

The government of the United Kingdom has asked the Federal Government of Nigeria to state the whereabouts of British-Nigerian man and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, saying “We are seeking urgent clarification from the Nigerian authorities about the status and whereabouts of Mr. Kanu, a British-Nigerian man, who has been reported missing since September 14,” on Thursday. This came as the Defence Headquarters, Friday, declared that it does not know the whereabouts of IPOB leaders Nnamdi Kanu and asked citizens not to panic over hitherto October 1st deadline given the Igbo by a group of Northern youths to vacate the region, saying the threat was no longer effective.
